Western Canadian Music Award Nominee Brad Prevedoros In Concert

Guitarist Brad Prevedoros will appear in concert at_____________ located at_______ on __________ at ____________ to promote his latest recording "After Hours".

Prevedoros plays with the passion of candlelight. His solo guitar technique and understated execution conjure-up magic. "After Hours", his latest recording, showcases his unique melding of jazz, Celtic-folk, pop, and classical influences and is an excellent introduction to his passionate guitar playing.

Prevedoros plays with intense abandon. Crystal-like, single note phrases pour from his fingers in an endless outpouring of improvisation. You can hear Charlie Byrd, Django Reinhardt, and Miles Davis in his playing. You can hear Bill Evans' intense lyricism and sophisticated harmonic conceptions too.

On After Hours Prevedoros transcends his electric guitar roots in Santana and Mark Knopfler, his studies with Ralph Towner and Oregon and Bill Douglas at Naropa Institute in Colorado, and earlier studies at the Victoria Conservatory and Capilano College in Vancouver. On After Hours you hear a musician in complete command of his instrument and musical conception.

The guitarist's concerts are well-stocked with original compositions that are as thoughtful and wise as they are brilliantly executed. They also feature solo guitar reshapings of well known jazz, classical, Celtic and popular works demonstrating Brad's mastery of his influences.

From Bach and Steve Reich to Paco De Lucia and The Gypsy Kings, Prevedoros has assimilated his influences into a singular sound. It's a sound that has won fans from Galiano Island to Cabra, Spain (the B.C. Island's twinned city.)

Prevedoros has collaborated on musical performances with poets Susan Musgrave, Dorothy Livesay, and Robert Bringhurst. He has toured with pianist Karel Roessingh. Brad was nominated for a Western Canadian Music Award for Instrumental Album of the Year. In 2005 he won an 'M' Award in Victoria for Best Classical Performer. His recording of Firedance was included on Go West-A Vital Collection of Western Canadian Music. A favourite on the B.C. club and concert scene, Brad's solo performances have drawn raves from audiences around the world.
